KSOU Distance M.Sc

The​‍​‌‍​‍‌​‍​‌‍​‍‌ Distance M.Sc. in at Karnataka State Open University is a postgraduate program to provide a comprehensive understanding of both the core and the advanced areas of science and technology fields. It intends to prepare the students to develop the required analytical, programming, and problem-solving skills through which they can cope with the technological challenges of the present era. Being a distance learning program, it allows the completion of the course by students who are already employed or learners who wish to pursue higher studies but have other engagements.

The syllabus teaches the students the basic theoretical concepts and the practical facets of application in the core as well as the emerging areas of science and technology. A range of subjects in the Master of Science course, like Computer Science, Chemistry, Biotechnology, Botany, and Data Science. There is no EMI option available at KSOU but the fee of every program is affordable and pocket-friendly. Instead of EMI options, KSOU offers various scholarships and financial aid to students from minorities, tribal welfare departments, and so on.

The examination pattern of KSOU consists of internal assessment and end-term examination which are divided according to the weightage of marks they carry individually, and they are combined and evaluated at the end of every semester. Internal assessment carries 20-30% of weightage which is decided by the university and a notice is circulated to the students through their official website the students can submit their internal assessment online or at the dedicated regional study center allotted by the university.
